Dog of the Week - Loba
Meet the lovely Loba! Our featured dog of the week. Loba (spanish for wolf) was found abandonded as a very young pup on the mountain side, emaciated, dehydrated, and bald from mange! Some wonderful humans rescued her and with some TLC she has become a wonderful, loving pup who will make someone a great companion. She is approximately a year old and will be a medium size dog. She is currently participating in basic obedience classes, so she will be a well mannered little lady for whoever adopts her. She also comes with a complete health protocol including being spayed.
If you are interest in adopting Loba, please fill out the contact form or email us a vivathedogsofmexico@gmail.com. Loba looks forward to hearing from you! As do we!
About Us - our mission, how to adopt and how to help
Hi there! We are some of the adorable doggies from Viva-the dogs of Mexico and we are looking for our forever homes. Right now we are in a safe shelter where we get to play with other dogs and our friends here make sure we are fed and kept healthy. But we really, really, just want a home of our own!
Can you please help us? How can you help, you ask? Let us tell you..
Adopt - but we realize that isn’t always possible
Donate via paypal
A one time donation or become a sponsor
Silver sponsor - $40 a month. This buys one month of dog food for one of our adoptees. Silver sponsors will receive a special pawprint thank you card with a photo of their sponsored dog. And a special call out on our blog and FB page!
Bronze sponsor - A one time donation of $125 to spay/neuter and vaccinate one of our adoptees.
Plus a monthly donation of $40 to provide one bag of food a month. A bronze sponsor will receive the above perks plus a monthly update and video of their sponsored dog.
Gold - all of the above plus a one time donation of $200 to provide a 3 week obedience training class.
Gold sponsors will receive all of the above perks plus weekly updates and videos plus a zoom call if desired.
Foster! There is nothing better for our dogs than to have a foster open their homes to them! It gives them an experience they can’t get living in the shelter. The ability to live in a real home and interact
In a true family situation! This is a win-win for both of you. If you are a snowbird, only here for a few months, this is perfect! You get a dog to call your “own” with no long term commitment ..unless you fall in love and want to make it permanent. And that can be arranged also! If you foster, you will get a very special shout out on our blog and FB page plus a picture of you and your foster on both! And you will be eligible for the free Saturday training classes at 1:00 pm. A great way to bond with your foster!
Other thank you gifts may be added as we grow and have more funds available to us. But no matter what, please know how horribly grateful we will be to you! As will our dogs.
Are there cost savings in adopting through us? Well, take a look and decide for yourself.
Training
Just as a note, the typical cost for a basic 3 week obedience training cost in the US runs from $1,500 for classes where you attend with your dog to private lessons that cost from $3,000 up. And our dogs are trained by Jena Marie Olla, a Certified Dog Trainer and Behavior Specialist and graduate of the Karen Pryor Academy. Jena is also certified to train assistance dogs. Read more about Jena and her qualifications here at https://es.clickerpets.com.mx/.
Health Protocols
The typical cost of a spay depends on your location but can average anywhere from $250 to $600. A neuter is slightly less at $200 to $700, again depending on your location and the size of the dog. Then add in the cost of vaccinations – approximately another $131 for your parvo, corona, rabies, five in one, and bordatella.
Here you can adopt a dog from us with a minimum of basic obedience training, neutered, and a full health protocol starting at $800 plus cost of transportation if needed.
If you wish to adopt a dog without basic training, the cost would be $650 plus transportation.
We offer discounts on older dogs, 7 years +. Just email or call us to discuss the dog you have fallen in love with!
If you wish to adopt a dog with advanced obedience training, therapy training and/or assistance dog training, contact us privately to discuss your specific needs.
